Do you like traveling?

I enjoy getting away from it all by visiting the rural areas. Nature truly soothes my soul. I frequently go off the beaten track because I am sick of tourist traps in famous tourist attractions.

What do you do on holidays?

I enjoy going to museums, since I love exploring the history of different places.  For instance, I visited 12 museums in Rome during my most recent trip. It was wonderful! Of course, there are occasions when I go shopping with friends or family as well. But it’s not nearly as interesting to me…

Part 2

Describe a tourist attraction you once visited. You should say:

I just traveled to Paris with my family for a vacation. Given that it contains so many attractions, including historical museums and monuments, it is a highly popular tourist destination. That explains why there are many tourists around. So we decided to travel during the off-season in the fall. It was a remarkable vacation because the weather was fantastic and we didn’t waste any time watching TV at the hotel. We dined at quaint small restaurants while taking in the breath-blowing vistas from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Paris is a beautiful city, and I would definitely suggest going.

Part 3

Why do you think tourism is so developed now?

Because traveling is much simpler now… You don’t need to spend a lot of money on vacation since you may pick charter flights and discover a variety of hostels wherever in the globe. Additionally, you don’t even need to leave your house because you may plan a vacation online.

Do you prefer traveling alone or in tour groups? Why?

Since I enjoy making my own travel plans, I absolutely prefer to go alone. Always adhere to the timetable when selecting a guided tour. I prefer traveling on my own. I can then spend as much time as I want at each location and see and do exactly what I want.

Part 1

Do you have a lot of friends?

I don’t have many, but I do have some extremely close friends. One trustworthy buddy, in my opinion, is preferable than a thousand temperamental ones. Though meeting someone you have a lot in common with is difficult, I believe I was successful in doing so.

How often do you see your friends?

As frequently as I can… We see each other practically daily since we appreciate one another’s companionship. We also live in the same city, making it simple for us to meet together.

Part 2

Describe your friend. You should say:

Why is he/she so close to you

and say what do you like about your friend the most

That would be Minh, a buddy of mine. Although I wouldn’t say he’s my bestie, I would rather refer to him as one of my good buddies. At a nearby sports facility last year, I first met him. We discovered that we attended the same college. Then, by some miracle, I was placed in his class, and we hit it off immediately. I have never met a sweeter person than him! He is intelligent, considerate, kind, humorous, and somehow attractive. Most significantly, we have a lot of interests, and he is the only one who truly comprehends me.

Part 3

Do you think friendship is important nowadays?

Certainly, I think! Without my friends, I would be miserable and alone, but they support me and assist me in every way they can. Of course, every relationship has its ups and downs, but we should make sure to maintain friendships.

What do you think is the best time to make new friends?

I guess your school and university years are probably the ideal times to make new buddies. There are several ways for you to contact other people… Additionally, it is simpler to meet folks who share your hobbies.

Part 1

How often do you surf the Internet?

Every day. It supports my academic work and cheers me up when I’m depressed. My pastime is internet browsing. I usually utilize the Internet for communication as well… Despite not liking social media sites like Facebook, I frequently utilize video conferencing to conduct business.

Do you have a computer?

Yes. I have a laptop and a desktop computer. My laptop is primarily used for schooling. I carry it to school since it is portable and simply fits in my bag. I play games on my PC since it has a big screen and a handy keyboard.

Part 2

Describe a useful app or computer program that you have used.

You should say:

what the app is

how long/how often you have used it 

what you use it for

and explain why you think it is useful.

Technological advancements have given consumers access to a variety of smart applications that help them work more productively and enjoy amusement. Camera 360 is undoubtedly one of the programs that young people have been utilizing more frequently on their tablets and cell phones. And I’m no different. The sole purpose of this program is to take and edit images.

Since I first started using my iPhone five years ago, I have been a huge admirer of this program. Like many other programs, its creator has continued to work on it to add additional eye-catching features and make it competitive with competing picture applications.

Regardless of my mood, one of my hobbies is snapping photos with friends, thus I frequently use this specific program as my go-to tool to edit the photos to make them appear more dynamic and intriguing.

I’m more inclined to take images now that I feel completely comfortable uploading them on social media platforms as a result of this software.

Part 3

What is the most impactful piece of technology in our lives?

The Internet is, in my opinion, the most significant technical development of our time. We have a ton of fresh options to learn everything we want about the world thanks to it! All you have to do is turn on your computer and go online. And we can do so simply and nearly everywhere thanks to public Wi-Fi hotspots and wireless networks at home.

How computers affect our everyday life?

Of course in a good way. They assist with so many things, from writing and publishing your own essays to creating cutting-edge software and doing digital editing… Studying would have been time-consuming and ineffective without computers.

Part 1

What kind of sport do you prefer?

I don’t have a favorite sport, but I truly enjoy going to the gym to work out. That enables me to maintain my physical fitness… I used to have a sports coach, but nowadays I’ve created my own fitness regimen and train by myself.

Do you do any kind of sports during weekends?

Haha no. I prefer to lie on my bed all day, doing nothing during weekends since I’m too tired and lazy after a tedious working week.

Part 2

Describe a sport that you have learned.

You should say:

what sport it is

when you learned it

what you learned to do

and explain how you feel about this sport.

I’ve had a long-standing interest in basketball as a sport. I recently started playing this sport as a result.

On a rectangular court, two teams of five players each play basketball while attempting to put the ball through the opponent‘s hoop. As far as I’m aware, basketball has several advantages for our health, including the growth of our muscles and our height.

Given its many benefits, I made the decision to start playing this sport. Actually, I’ve been studying it in a sports facility for three months. I’m taking a course here that teaches the fundamentals of playing basketball, including dribbling, leaping, and shooting.

In order to better my physical condition and completely enjoy the sport, I aim to be able to play basketball with proficiency.

Part 3

Why do some people enjoy sports more than others?

It’s a challenging question. The biggest reason, in my opinion, is that it might be challenging to discover the ideal sport for you. Cricket, for instance, may still be enjoyable even if you don’t like basketball or football. You shouldn’t be afraid to try new things because eventually you’ll find your perfect sport.

IELTS Speaking Sample Topic Food

Part 1

When do you usually eat dinner?

I normally have my big meal at 4 p.m. By then, I’m hungry, and occasionally I would eat everything I find.

Is there any food you don’t like? 

Yes. I don’t have a picky palate, but I really dislike garlic and fish. I try to stay away from meals that could have these ingredients.

Part 2

Describe a time when you tried a new food for the first time.

You should say:

what food it was

where you ate it

what it tasted like

and explain whether or not you liked this food

I want to share with you my first experience eating barbecued cuisine. When my family went out to supper to celebrate the birthday of my younger sister, this incident occurred. We made the decision to eat at a BBQ restaurant after deliberating over a variety of different savory foods to include for our lunch.

With three varied tastes, we ordered four courses. One of them was grilled Australian beef that had a taste that was deep, peppery, and fragrant. It looked attractive in addition to tasting excellent. Additionally, it complemented two other dipping sauces perfectly and was served with baguettes. There was also a salad, which provided a bland flavor to offset the hot elements.

That was the first time I tried BBQ, and I would have liked to have kept on coming back for more.

How can we make people eat healthier food?

The optimal solution for this issue is to eat an unhealthy and nutritious diet with moderation. If you can manage to consume healthy foods most of the time, you can occasionally indulge in harmful foods. Even though I indulge in junk food, I strive to take care of my health.

Part 1

What do you study?

I’m an undergraduate of International Economics major at F university. My major mostly deals with international trade and law, global marketing, foreign transportation and payment. Those subjects are interesting and intriguing to me. 

Is it a popular major/subject in your country?

Personally speaking, I won’t say my major is popular in our country. People in Vietnam nowadays tend to opt for Marketing and Communication related majors, since the creative industry is booming in our country. However, despite being a not so popular major, International Economics can give students lots of opportunities after finishing study.

Part 2

Describe an subject of study that you are interested in 

You should say:

What it is

When you started to become interested in it

What you have learned from it

And explain why you have interest in it

I want to talk about a subject that I was really interested in in school –  History.

I have to admit that I didn’t initially enjoy history since I had to memorize so many statistics, dates, and events in order to be fully prepared for the exam. But when I was in grade 10, my history teacher gave the topic new life, and I began to like it more.

The subject has taught me a lot. Learning about historical events has not only helped me understand how the world functioned in the past, but it has also reconnected me with my nation’s culture. All in all, I believe that history has taught me to appreciate the present while learning from the past.

Part 3

Does everybody get equal opportunities to study?

I would say no. I believe it truly depends on the nation in which you reside. Additionally, it relies on your financial resources. Some colleges and institutions are simply overpriced, making few individuals able to afford to attend there to study.

Giám khảo: Thank you. Now I’m going to give you a topic and I’d like you to talk about it for one to two minutes. Before you talk you’ll have one minute to think about what you’re going to say. You can make notes if you wish. Do you understand? 

Here’s some paper and a pencil for making notes and here’s your topic: Describe a special gift or present you gave to someone.

Thí sinh: Um, the special gift I gave to my mother and it was a necklace on mother’s day. I’ve been to different shops to search for what I am going to give my mother. Because, you know, if I just gave her anything, then it would be very simple. 

I looked for different shops and I then decided to take a very lovely necklace. It wasn’t that much expensive. I just had the money for it so I asked the salesman to wrap it for me in very colored papers. And then I tried to hide it. I didn’t tell her about it until the party because we usually have a party for my mother on Mother’s Day.

And when I gave it to her she was really happy and she was almost in tears because she really liked it. And she told me no matter how simple it is, since you think about giving it to me, that’s really great. 

I was really happy to be able to give her this present and she’s wearing it every time when she goes out and she always tells her friends about it, so I really was proud and happy.

Thí sinh: Well usually, they give gifts on birthdays on special occasions like, for example, in Christmas time and sometimes if anybody has graduated from college or from school and somebody is out of hospital,… We usually give them presents and gifts.

Thí sinh: Well it is important because I feel that it lets us recognize that at the end we are all human beings. It’s like a small village and we are the members of the same land so I feel it just really makes the relationships stronger.
